The Dominion Curling Club Championship is an annual event for men’s and women’s curling teams who have won their respective local club championships. Winning teams from each club will be "The Dominion Club Champions" and will play down to produce a provincial/territorial champion from all ten provinces and three territories, plus a separate entry for Northern Ontario, who will then compete at the national level.
The event gives grass roots curling teams from every corner of the country an opportunity to compete in provincial/territorial and national level competition. Club curlers are those who enjoy the sport recreationally, supporting club leagues on a regular basis from September to April. These teams now have a venue to demonstrate their skill against other curling clubs in their province/territory and country.
This is the ultimate experience for club curlers. Provincial and Territorial Champions receive travel, accommodations, many meals, provincial/territorial on-ice jackets and shirts as well as a championship banner to hang proudly in their home club - all courtesy of The Dominion.  Junior Yellowknife teams win Territorial’s

It was busy weekend for both junior boys and girls curlers as they competed for the Territorial Championships.  Yellowknife hosted the Junior Girls with teams from Hay River, Inuvik and the host Yellowknife.  The boy’s event took place in Inuvik with teams from both Yellowknife and the host town competing.

In the end it was a double win for the teams from Yellowknife.  The junior girls won a thrilling tie breaker against a strong team from Hay River.  The junior women’s team was made up of Taryn Williams, Janis O’Keefe, Paige Elkin, Katharine Thomas and Coach Ashley Green.  Next stop for the girls is Napanee, Ontario February 4-12 for the Canadian Championships

The junior boys from Yellowknife played well as the visiting team and managed to take the championship from Inuvik.  The boys took the final game 10-3 after 9 Ends to earn the right to go to Napanee.  The junior men’s team was made up of Daniel Murray, Matthew Miller, TC Ibey, Randy Hiebert and Coach Maureen Miller.

All teams involved during the weekend’s competition competed with great sportsmanship and dedication to the game.

Its Back!!!!!

First Air has graciously donated a trip to either Yellowknife or Edmonton (winner’s choice) for the winner of this exciting competition open to both members and non members.  This is a fun way to help support both your club and NWT Curling and win a great prize.  For more information contact your local club and see just how close you can come.
